Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed confidence that the policies and approach implemented by President Bola Tinubu since his inauguration on May 29, 2023, will lead to a significant reset of Nigeria.
Speaking at a one-day lecture organized by the Arewa Think Tank (ATT) in Kaduna, Sani highlighted that the administration’s reforms will result in noticeable improvements in the lives of Nigerians across the country.
He commended Tinubu’s track record as a performer, referencing his tenure as Lagos State governor.
The lecture, themed “Agricultural Perspective of Nigeria in the Last 64 Years of Independence,” saw the governor urging Nigerians to show patience as the benefits of the president’s reforms begin to take shape.
“We are already seeing progress. The economy is improving rapidly, and soon the positive impacts of the reforms will be felt across the nation. What the president needs now is the support of our people,” Governor Sani said.
Sani emphasized that agriculture was the foundation of Nigeria’s economy at independence, with the three regions effectively using agricultural resources to build infrastructure and develop human capital.
However, he lamented that oil discovery led to the neglect of agriculture, resulting in economic setbacks.
The governor called for a return to agriculture, stressing that it is vital for addressing the nation’s challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and insecurity.
“We must invest heavily in agriculture as it holds the key to tackling these issues,” Sani concluded.
