The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service has apprehended 90 undocumented immigrants accused of engaging in cyber fraud targeting unsuspecting Nigerians.

Acting on reliable intelligence, the arrests were carried out in collaboration with other security agencies at a concealed location within Rivers State.

YI Abdulmajeed, the Rivers State Comptroller of the Immigration Service, revealed that 94 individuals were initially detained.

Among them, 85 were identified as Cameroonians, five as Chadians, and four as Nigerians.

Further profiling showed that 74 of the suspects were male, while 20 were female.

Investigations revealed that all 90 foreign suspects entered Nigeria through illegal routes and failed to provide valid travel documents or residence permits during questioning.

Additionally, two Nigerian landlords, both from Rivers State, were taken into custody for allegedly providing housing to the suspects.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, has directed the repatriation of the foreign nationals to their respective countries.
