Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has returned to Nigeria after serving her jail sentence in the United Kingdom.
According to the Daily Post, a reliable source shared the information on Wednesday, revealing that she arrived in the country on Tuesday.
It is worth noting that Senator Ekweremadu, his wife, and Dr. Obinna Obeta were convicted in a UK court for involvement in organ trafficking.
The former Deputy Senate President received a 10-year prison sentence, while Mrs. Ekweremadu was sentenced to six years.
Ekweremadu’s return has sparked celebrations across Enugu State, where many are hopeful for Senator Ekweremadu’s eventual release.
