A tragic shooting at a wedding in Kebbi State has left a nine-year-old child, Al’amin Garba, dead, while another child, seven-year-old Bello Shehu, was injured.
The incident occurred in the Koko/Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State, where a man identified as Muhammad Sani opened fire on wedding guests.
Garba was struck in the head and died instantly, while Shehu suffered severe injuries to his ribs and has been hospitalized.
Sani, the suspected shooter, has been arrested. The police have condemned the attack, with Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, calling it an unacceptable act of violence.
Sani appealed to residents to surrender any firearms in their possession to the police for the safety of the public.
He also stressed the need for a comprehensive investigation and immediate prosecution of the shooter.
