Fear grips Nasarawa community as another body of unidentified woman found

Must read

Fear and tension have gripped the people of the community of the Ombi 1 area of Nasarawa as another unidentified young woman’s body has been found near the Mustapha Agwei II State Polytechnic, Lafia.

The tragic discovery comes just days after the violent killing and dismemberment of Salome Adaidu, reportedly at the hands of her partner in Orozo, another part of Nasarawa State.

Ombi 1, an area already notorious for its high crime rates, is on edge following this latest incident.

Known for its concentration of clubs and bars, the community has become a haven for criminal elements, some of whom pretend to be students from the nearby polytechnic.

Despite regular security patrols, violent crimes in the area remain a significant concern for residents.

Initial police findings suggest that the victim was killed and her body dragged from a nearby junction before being abandoned behind a compound on Saturday night.

Residents stumbled upon the body early Sunday morning and promptly alerted authorities.

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the incident and assured the public that investigations are ongoing.

Police are urging anyone with information that could assist in identifying the victim or uncovering the circumstances surrounding her death to come forward.

“We are calling on members of the public who may have useful information to contact us immediately,” a police spokesperson said.
