Delta police nabs two suspects over alleged murder of girl

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended two individuals linked to the gruesome killing of a 10-year-old girl.

In a statement shared on Monday via X (formerly Twitter), the command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests.

The post included a video showing the suspects being interrogated.

Edafe explained that the girl’s boyfriend deceived one of the triplets, who was the victim’s sister and led her to meet two unidentified men.

These men reportedly killed the child with a machete, promising the boyfriend a payment of N200,000-а promise that was never fulfilled.

During the interrogation, one of the suspects, a 20-year-old named Precious, confessed to his role in the crime.

“I sent someone to call her (one of the triplets), and I handed her over to the two boys who killed her with a cutlass,” he admitted.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities seek justice for the victim.
