BREAKING: EFCC arraigns former AMCON MD, Arik Air boss over alleged property theft

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, January 20, 2025, arraigned Ahmed Kuru, a former Managing Director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), and Captain Roy Ilegbodu, the current Managing Director of Arik Air, alongside Kamilu Omokide, the Receiver Manager of Arik Air.

The three individuals, along with Union Bank Plc and Super Bravo Limited, appeared before Justice Mojisola Dada at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.

They face a six-count charge involving alleged theft of Arik Air properties and abuse of office.

All defendants pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

The EFCC has accused the parties of engaging in improper conduct detrimental to the operations of Arik Air. Further details regarding the case are expected to emerge as the trial progresses.
