The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the incident, which occurred on January 18 around 9:00 a.m., in a released statement.

The operation highlighted the swift response and collaboration among security agencies, including the police, military, Department of State Services (DSS), Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KTSCWC), and local vigilantes.

A distress call alerted the Dutsinma Divisional Police Headquarters about the armed assault on the village.

“Seven suspected bandits were neutralized during the operation, while others fled with injuries, abandoning 61 cows, 44 sheep, two donkeys, one goat, and one dog,” the police statement revealed.

Commissioner of Police Aliyu Abubakar Musa praised the operatives for their bravery and professionalism, reaffirming the command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property.
