Brighton stun Manchester United with 3-1 victory at Old Trafford

Brighton secured a commanding 3-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in Sunday’s Premier League clash, leaving the Red Devils reeling in 13th place on the table.

The Seagulls struck early, with Yasin Minteh opening the scoring in the 5th minute after a well-timed assist from Kaoru Mitoma.

The visitors capitalized on Manchester United’s sluggish start to set the tone for the game.

However, United found their way back into the match in the 23rd minute when captain Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty, levelling the score at 1-1.

Despite their efforts, United struggled to create clear-cut chances and looked vulnerable to Brighton’s counterattacks.

In the second half, Brighton regained their advantage in the 60th minute. Mitoma turned from provider to scorer, finishing off a precise pass from Minteh to restore the Seagulls’ lead.

Manchester United’s defence was caught flat-footed, unable to contain Brighton’s fluid attacking play.

Brighton sealed their victory in the 76th minute when Georginio Rutter found the back of the net, delivering a decisive blow to the hosts.

With the assist coming from Tariq Lamptey, Brighton’s offensive depth was on full display.

Under manager Rúben Amorim, Manchester United’s inconsistent form continues to raise concerns, as they now sit in a disappointing 13th position on the league table.

In contrast, Brighton’s dynamic performance further bolsters their reputation as a formidable force this season.

The defeat adds pressure on Amorim and his squad, who will need to regroup quickly to salvage their season.

Meanwhile, Brighton’s victory highlights their growing confidence and attacking prowess.
