Must read

The federal government has announced a 14-month timeline to finalize the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road.

Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, disclosed this during an inspection tour of the project on Thursday.

He was accompanied by the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and members of the National Assembly.

Idris emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to expediting the completion of the road, assuring that no contractor would be allowed to delay the project.

“President Tinubu is resolute about ensuring this vital road is completed swiftly,” Idris stated.

“We will not permit any contractor to hinder this or other projects. Nigerians cannot afford to wait another three years for this critical infrastructure.”

He further highlighted the enthusiasm and dedication of all stakeholders, expressing confidence in meeting the set deadline.

Idris also urged critics to put aside politics, stating that the road is essential for connecting Abuja with Kano and other regions.

“The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, along with his team, has demonstrated remarkable determination.

“Nigerians can hold the ministry accountable as they work tirelessly to deliver a brand-new road in record time,” Idris added.

Regular progress updates will be provided to ensure transparency, he assured, underscoring the government’s focus on accountability and efficiency in completing the project.
