Arewa youths demand investigation into Asari Dokubo’s threats against Wike

The Arewa Youths for Peaceful Coexistence (AYPC) have urged security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), to investigate alleged threats made by Asari Dokubo against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Hon. Ambassador Mark Okpanachi Ogah, the AYPC FCT Chapter Coordinator, raised this concern during a statement in Abuja on Wednesday.

He emphasized that Nigeria operates under the rule of law and warned that no individual is above it.

Ogah criticized Dokubo’s verbal attacks and urged him to refrain from issuing unwarranted threats against government officials.

Ogah stated, “We call on the DSS and NPF to intervene and caution Asari Dokubo against further threats or disparaging remarks directed at the FCT Minister.”

The group denounced Dokubo’s comments, describing them as malicious and self-serving, aimed at undermining Wike’s achievements.

Ogah further noted that Dokubo has no legitimate authority to interfere in matters beyond his jurisdiction, particularly concerning Rivers State.

He highlighted Wike’s exemplary leadership and contributions, from his tenure as Rivers State governor to his current role as FCT Minister, where he has earned nationwide respect for his transformative projects.

Ogah criticized Dokubo’s history of leveraging intimidation for personal gain and claimed his recent frustration stems from the government’s refusal to grant him control over oil pipeline security contracts.

The AYPC reaffirmed their support for Wike’s leadership and called on Nigerians to back leaders committed to national development and unity.

They vowed to resist any attempts by individuals like Dokubo to derail the progress being made in the FCT.
