Rivers LG chairman lists livestock distribution, aide appointments as key 100-day achievements

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has listed the distribution of cows, rams, goats, and bags of rice as part of his accomplishments during his first 100 days in office, with the approval of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

According to a statement by Ihunwo’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Dr Amadi Eze, the livestock and food items were shared as Christmas gifts to council workers, stakeholders, and appointees.

Eze described the gesture as both symbolic and practical. “The distribution of rice, a staple in many households, ensured beneficiaries enjoyed a hearty festive meal.

“Livestock such as cows, rams, and goats added variety and served as sustenance or income sources for some,” he said.

Additionally, Ihunwo appointed Supervisors, Special Advisers, and Senior Special Assistants to enhance the administration’s operations.

Eze noted that these appointments reflect the chairman’s commitment to fostering efficient governance.

“In his first hundred days, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo has demonstrated visionary leadership by setting a standard for grassroots governance and inclusive development,” Eze added.

The initiatives aim to solidify the chairman’s administration as proactive and people-focused, contributing to improved welfare and governance at the local level.
