Ortom, who served as governor from 2015 to 2023, has been a prominent figure in the PDP and is known for his advocacy on key social issues.

His appointment to the BOT is expected to strengthen the party’s strategic direction and influence, especially in the lead-up to future elections.

The SWC expressed confidence that Ortom’s new role will enhance the party’s cohesion in Benue State and ensure the state’s priorities are reflected at the national level.
