A 33-year-old Chinese national, Chen Wang, was reportedly stabbed to death in his office at Fujiada Electronics Technology Company Ltd, situated along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Wang, who served as the company’s manager, was killed around noon on Sunday. The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, revealing that it was reported by Akosile Akinsanmi, another manager at the firm.

According to Odutola, the police have launched a manhunt for a suspect identified as Jonah and his unidentified girlfriend, who are alleged to have carried out the attack.

The pair reportedly entered Wang’s office during the employee’s regular break, stabbed him, and fled the scene.

“The company’s manager reported that on January 12, during the workers’ routine break, Jonah and his girlfriend, whose identities are still being verified, broke into Chen Wang’s office and fatally stabbed him before fleeing,” Odutola said.

Police detectives from the Ogere Division visited the crime scene to investigate and documented evidence, including photographs of the deceased.

Wang’s body has since been transferred to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital for an autopsy.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects, while authorities continue their investigation into the tragic incident.
