During Isha prayers last night, notorious bandit leader Bello Turji orchestrated a deadly attack on the Birnin Yaro community in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, abducting all the mosque’s worshippers.
Bakatsine, a security expert and analyst specializing in banditry in Nigeria’s Northwest, confirmed the incident but noted that the exact number of abducted individuals remains unclear.
He described the raid as a deliberate act by Turji, whose recent threats to escalate violence in Zamfara have raised alarm among residents and authorities alike.
