Two individuals were killed and one was injured in a crash on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway on Saturday afternoon.
The incident, which occurred around 3:27 p.m. in the Age-Mowo area, was confirmed by William Manga, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry.
Manga reported that the collision involved a Toyota Matrix with the registration number KSF 235 JE and an unregistered Bajaj tricycle. According to him, two of the tricycle’s occupants died on the spot, while one sustained injuries.
“Our team received the alert at about 3:30 p.m. and arrived at the scene six minutes later at 3:36 p.m.,” Manga explained.
The accident, which was caused by reckless overtaking, led to a head-on collision. The injured person was rushed to the General Hospital in Badagry, while the bodies of the deceased were also taken to the hospital’s morgue.
The FRSC commander urged motorists on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway to exercise caution and adhere strictly to traffic laws, especially on the single-lane road.
