Delta Governor removes Information Commissioner

Must read

Delta State Governor, Chief Sheriff Oborevweri, has dismissed the state’s Information Commissioner, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza.

The reason for Osuoza’s removal has not been officially disclosed. However, Dr. Fred Latimor Oghenesivbe, the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communication, confirmed that Osuoza had already been briefed about the situation.

A source, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that Governor Oborevweri has appointed Charles Aniagwu, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), to temporarily oversee the Ministry of Information.

Oghenesivbe added that an official announcement regarding the development will be made by the Governor soon.

In the interim, Aniagwu will assume responsibility for both the Ministry of Works and Information.

He is expected to resume duties on Monday, handling the affairs of both ministries.

Reports suggest that Osuoza’s removal followed several complaints regarding alleged incompetence.

Aniagwu, who previously served as Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information under former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration, will now manage the two portfolios.
