Wizkid surpasses Burna Boy, Davido, becomes most streamed African singer

Prominent Nigerian music star, Ayo Balogun fondly known as Wizkid has emerged the most streamed African artist on Spotify, surpassing other big names like Burna Boy and Davido.

With a remarkable 8 billion streams, Wizkid has become one of Africa’s top musical exports.

Burna Boy secured second place with 7.5 billion streams, putting up a strong challenge but not quite reaching Wizkid’s impressive total. Rema and Tems followed in third and fourth place with 4.37 billion and 3.24 billion streams, respectively.

The success of the “Kese (Dance)” crooner, who has been a prominent figure in the music scene for years, has continually expanded the limits of African music. He explores new sounds and works with international artists, which has helped grow his global fan base.

Davido made it to the top 10 list, securing the seventh spot with 2.5 billion streams, but he fell short of the top two. CKay came in eighth with 2.33 billion streams, followed by Ayra Starr with 2.2 billion, Omah Lay with 1.93 billion, and Asake with 1.9 billion streams.
