Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has condemned the recent terrorist attack on a military base in the Sabongari community of Damboa Local Government Area.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar, the governor described the attack as a desperate attempt by insurgents to undermine the significant progress made by the military in combating terrorism in the region.
Governor Zulum extended his condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives during the attack and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian military in achieving sustainable peace and development in the state.
“The enemies of our people are determined to challenge our collective resolve and reverse the gains we have made in resettling communities and restoring livelihoods, particularly in the agricultural sector,” Zulum said.
He assured both the armed forces and the people of Borno that the state government remains steadfast in its efforts to achieve lasting peace. “Together, we shall overcome and ensure the progress we have achieved endures,” the governor added.
