Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dissolved his cabinet, ending the tenure of all commissioners and special advisers.
He cited the need for new ideas and professionals to advance the state’s development agenda.
The announcement was made on Friday during a valedictory session held at the Exco Chamber in Uyo.
Governor Eno commended the outgoing officials for their commitment and contributions to the success of his administration’s “Arise Agenda.”
“You have all performed excellently, and the success of the Arise Agenda is a testament to your hard work,” he stated. “However, it is time to transition into a new season with fresh energy and ideas.”
Many of the outgoing commissioners had served in their roles for nearly a decade, with some initially appointed during the administration of former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Reports suggest Governor Eno retained them to allow for a smooth transition and as a gesture of appreciation for their years of service.
