Sowore slams Tinubu’s administration over alleged mismanagement of resources

Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of mismanaging Nigeria’s resources and failing to address the country’s economic and infrastructural challenges.

During a live interview on Channels TV, Sowore highlighted the worsening poverty levels and crumbling infrastructure as clear signs that funds saved from the removal of fuel subsidies have not been effectively utilized for national development.

He described the situation as the worst he had witnessed in his lifetime.

“There is total mismanagement of the resources of the country,” Sowore stated. “When this administration took over power, they promised that the savings from the removal of fuel subsidies would be directed toward improving the economy, fostering prosperity, and driving development. However, none of these promises have been fulfilled.”

Sowore pointed to the dire state of infrastructure in his home state, Ondo, as an example, noting that road conditions were at an all-time low. He also emphasized that the level of poverty across the country has reached unprecedented levels under Tinubu’s leadership.

He further remarked, “Many Nigerians are worse off now than they were in 2023 before this administration came into power.”

Sowore’s comments come amidst growing concerns over Nigeria’s annual infrastructure deficit, estimated at $100 billion to $150 billion.
