A Chief Magistrate Court in Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State, has sentenced Mr. Nuhu Isah to six months in prison or a ₦20,000 fine for criminal intimidation and inciting violence against officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The court, presided over by His Worship Mohammed Njidda, delivered the verdict on January 7, 2025.
The charges stemmed from an incident on January 5, 2025, when Isah recorded an FRSC patrol team on duty and encouraged passengers to mob the officers. His actions disrupted the lawful activities of the team, prompting his arrest and subsequent prosecution.
Reacting to the judgment, FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed emphasized the critical role of highway safety and urged citizens to support the agency’s efforts to ensure safer roads.
He reaffirmed the FRSC’s commitment to its mandate, stating that acts of intimidation or threats against personnel would not deter the agency from fulfilling its responsibilities.
