The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has declared 2025 as a decisive year to eradicate banditry, terrorism, and other security threats in Nigeria.
While commending the military for safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity, he urged troops to intensify their efforts to permanently eliminate insecurity.
General Musa made this statement during a visit to troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State.
He praised their achievements in maintaining security but emphasized the need for sustained efforts, noting that the expectations for total victory against insurgency remain high.
During his visit, the CDS expressed gratitude for the troops’ dedication and highlighted the importance of their role in ensuring a secure Nigeria.
He inspected arms and ammunition recovered by OPSH and reviewed a guard of honour mounted in his honour.
General Musa also joined Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and OPSH Commander, in a push-up exercise with the troops to demonstrate their combat readiness.
Similar activities had been conducted earlier in Kaduna State before he arrived in Plateau.
The visit aimed to boost troop morale and reinforce the government’s commitment to supporting the military in achieving its security objectives.
