Kano police arrest suspected kidnapper, rescue 2-year-old boy

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly abducting a two-year-old boy, Al’amin Ahmad Garba, and demanding a ransom of ₦50 million.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna, speaking on Saturday, the suspect was arrested on December 25, 2024, after an intensive intelligence-led operation.

The young victim was found three days later in a house located in Unguwar Liman, Dorayi Quarters, Kano.

Following his rescue, the child received medical care at Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital before being reunited with his family.

The suspect, a resident of Rijiyar Lemo Quarters in Kano, was charged on January 3, 2025, at Magistrate Court Number 25, Nomansland, Kano, and is currently in remand.

Commissioner of Police CP Salman Dogo Garba reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring public safety and encouraged residents to collaborate with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities or providing valuable information.
