A former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Nuhu Yaqub, has passed away.
He died on Saturday, January 4, 2025, as announced by the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abubakar Sulaiman.
In a statement, Sulaiman described the news of Yaqub’s death as both shocking and devastating.
He noted that the late professor had served as the Chairman of the Academic Advisory Board at NILDS and left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s academic community.
Sulaiman highlighted Yaqub’s dedication to advancing Nigeria’s education system and promoting research, commending his significant contributions to the development of higher education in the country.
He also extended his condolences to Yaqub’s family and prayed for the repose of his soul.
