Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has dissolved the State Executive Council (SEC), terminating the appointments of all commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants, and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Muhammad Ubandoma-Aliyu, with immediate effect.
The announcement was made by the Governor during an expanded meeting of the Executive Council held at the Government House in Lafia.
The dissolution was further confirmed by Labaran Magaji, the now-former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, who shared the development on his official Facebook page on Friday night.
Magaji wrote, “Following an emergency EXCO meeting held this evening in the council chamber of the Government House Lafia, the Governor in council announced the dissolution of the Nasarawa State Executive Council, thereby bringing my tenure as the Honourable Attorney-General of Nasarawa State to an end.
“I sincerely thank His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi Sule FNSE for giving me the opportunity to serve the state in that capacity, and I also appreciate the management and staff of the Ministry of Justice Lafia for their support in achieving modest success in the management of our justice system.
“My appreciation also goes to members of the state security architecture for their unwavering support. To friends, family, and well-wishers, I sincerely thank you for your unending solidarity.”
Governor Sule has not yet disclosed reasons for the dissolution or announced plans for reconstituting the council.
