Tony Okeke, a former spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of regressing Nigeria by a century.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okeke also slammed former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure, asserting that both APC-led governments have failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
“In law, we say you cannot build something on nothing. The last administration [under Buhari] took this country about 50 years back. The current administration seems to be taking us 100 years back,” Okeke said.
He further lamented the PDP’s missed opportunity to capitalize on public discontent with the APC during the 2023 elections, which he described as a pivotal moment for change.
“The 2023 election should have been an easy win for the PDP. After eight years of APC’s monumental failure under Buhari, Nigerians were desperate for an alternative. Unfortunately, the PDP couldn’t fully take advantage of that dissatisfaction,” he noted.
