The Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating an atmosphere of autonomy and trust, which he said has driven significant progress in Nigeria’s infrastructure sector.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Umahi highlighted Tinubu’s hands-off leadership style, noting that it has empowered the Ministry of Works to implement innovative policies aligned with the president’s vision.

“There is no decision we’ve taken in the Ministry of Works regarding new policies to drive his agenda that he has reversed. This shows his confidence in our ability to deliver,” Umahi stated.

The minister also lauded Tinubu’s expertise in infrastructure development, referencing his achievements during his tenure as Lagos State governor.

“He is a courageous leader with extensive knowledge of infrastructural development. Having a leader who recognizes that infrastructure is a catalyst for national growth is a blessing,” Umahi added.

Reflecting on his tenure as Ebonyi State governor, Umahi credited his accomplishments to a combination of passion, divine inspiration, and proactive leadership. He cited landmark projects like the state’s international airport, shopping malls, and concrete road networks as evidence of his innovative approach.

“Most of the projects in Ebonyi State were designed by me, with inspiration from God,” Umahi said.

He also called on Nigerians to shift away from associating government initiatives with corruption, emphasizing that dedication and integrity can deliver impactful results.
