One dead, seven injured in Tesla cybertruck explosion outside Trump hotel

A deadly explosion involving a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday has left one person dead and seven others injured.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill confirmed the incident, stating that smoke began rising from the vehicle before it erupted in a large explosion.

The driver of the Cybertruck was reportedly killed in the blast, while the other seven victims sustained injuries.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. McMahill noted the heightened security measures, referencing a similar incident in New Orleans, where a driver rammed a vehicle into a crowd, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.

“We’re very aware of what happened in New Orleans,” McMahill said. “With an explosion on the iconic Las Vegas Boulevard, we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our community.”

Eric Trump, son of President-elect Donald Trump and a leader of the Trump Organization, addressed the incident via Twitter, confirming the electric vehicle fire.

“The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain our top priority,” he stated.
