Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has expressed unwavering faith in God’s power to overcome adversaries and deliver victory for the state and its people in 2025.
Speaking during a crossover church service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Opobo Town, Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Governor Fubara led worshippers in a gallant praise song: “At the mention of Your name, every knee shall bow; every tongue confesses that You are Lord, You are King, the King of Kings.”
He emphasized that the lyrics served as both a consolation and a rallying call for the people to strengthen their trust in God, who, he said, remains the ultimate source of triumph.
“The Red Biro is still filled. It is still here with me. Every enemy plan will continue to crash,” Fubara declared, while wishing everyone a prosperous New Year.
The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta, Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, who led the service, reflected on the challenges faced in 2024, including conspiracy, blackmail, economic hardship, and health crises. However, he noted that these trials did not overwhelm the faithful.
According to the bishop, God has given a new song of victory to those who are grateful for His works, assuring worshippers that in 2025, God will sustain, deliver, and enable them to live victoriously.
He prayed for peace, unity, and progress in the state, aligning his prayers with the government’s 2025 Budget of Inclusive Growth and Development.
The service featured praise and worship sessions, choir ministrations, and a joyful celebration as the congregation welcomed the New Year at midnight with resounding shouts of “Happy New Year!”
Prominent attendees included the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Oko-Jumbo; Chief of Staff to the Government House, Dr. Edison Ehie; National Assembly members Awaji-Inombek Abiante, Boma Goodhead, and Anderson Igbiks; and the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, King Dandeson Jaja.
