In his New Year’s address to the nation, President Bola Tinubu reiterated his administration’s determination to lower inflation from its current rate of 34.6% to 15% by 2025.
The president acknowledged the challenges posed by rising food prices and the high cost of essential medications, which have strained many Nigerian households.
He pledged to ramp up efforts to alleviate the cost of living by boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring a steady supply of affordable food.
Additionally, Tinubu emphasized plans to prioritize local production of essential medicines and medical supplies, aiming to strengthen the healthcare sector and reduce dependency on imports.
“We are steadfast in our mission to bring inflation down from its current level to 15%. With hard work and divine favour, we will achieve this target and bring much-needed relief to our people,” Tinubu assured Nigerians.
