Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has officially signed the 2025 budget of ₦427,746,925,170 into law, following its passage by the state legislature.
After signing the budget on Monday, Governor Adeleke directed the state’s ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to ensure its effective implementation for the benefit of the citizens.
“We are here to reaffirm our commitment to driving growth and development in Osun State as we enter the new year,” the governor stated.
“The 2025 budget, tagged the ‘Budget of Sustainable Growth and Transformation,’ totals ₦427,746,925,170.”
He emphasized that all relevant ministries and departments must prioritize the full realization of the budget’s objectives.
Additionally, the governor instructed the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development to oversee the implementation process to ensure it meets its targets and expectations.
“This Appropriation Act will serve as a key instrument in delivering our five-point agenda for good governance,” he added.
Governor Adeleke commended the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development for their professionalism throughout the process, as well as the Treasury Board and other senior government officials who contributed to the successful formulation of the budget.
He also expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and the lawmakers for their efforts in passing the budget.
Looking ahead, the governor called on the executive branch to cooperate with the legislative arm in ensuring transparency, accountability, and proper oversight during the 2025 fiscal year.
