Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, has fired back at Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, calling him a “political mercenary.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), El-Rufai criticized Omokri, labeling him as part of an “interesting lifecycle” and accused him of offering his services to the highest bidder. The attack is part of an ongoing exchange between the two, with El-Rufai condemning Omokri’s shifting political allegiances.
Omokri, who previously served as a spokesperson for opposition leader Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential election, shocked many when he switched allegiance to support President Bola Tinubu after the polls.
El-Rufai also posted images of Omokri at a protest in London, where he had referred to President Tinubu as a drug baron.
“The interesting lifecycle of Wendell Simlin, also sometimes retained as a political mercenary by any person or government that can pay,” El-Rufai wrote.
