Former ADC to Jonathan, Moses Jituboh dies at 54

Must read

Moses Jituboh, the former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54 after a brief illness, a source confirmed late on Friday.

The source revealed that Jituboh died on Friday, and efforts are underway to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

“Yes, your information is correct. I can confirm that Moses Jituboh has passed away. I just got off the phone with a community chief,” the source stated.

Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC both during his tenure as Governor of Bayelsa State and as Vice President. He continued in the role when Jonathan became President of Nigeria.

Following Jonathan’s loss in the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh returned to his police duties and was once rumored to be in line for the position of Inspector General of Police, though he ultimately did not secure the role.

The Zone 16 Police Command expressed condolences to Jituboh’s family and the people of Bayelsa State. A statement released by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, on Saturday noted that the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 16, Adebola Hamzat, conveyed his sympathy.

The statement also highlighted Jituboh’s remarkable service to the Nigeria Police Force, which included roles as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Department of Research and Planning, as well as in the Department of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) at the Force Headquarters.

“His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, his dedication to service, and his integrity will never be forgotten,” the statement read.

The police command described Jituboh’s death as a significant loss to his family, Bayelsa State, the Nigeria Police Force, and the nation.

“Our prayer is that God gives the immediate family the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss of your beloved son,” the statement concluded.
