Must read

The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended 23 individuals suspected of being armed robbers and cultists allegedly plotting to incite violence during the festive season.

This development was disclosed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to the statement, officers from the Lagos State Police Command responded to a distress call in the Safejo area of Amukoko, Lagos, on December 25, 2024, around 1 a.m.

Their swift response led to the arrest of three suspects: Emmanuel Okoli, Ogunde Tejiri, and Emmanuel Orji.

In a separate operation later that day, officers from the Saminaka Division under the Kaduna State Command arrested Sule Muhammad, a suspect linked to multiple kidnapping incidents in the Saminaka area.

The arrest, which occurred around 8 p.m., resulted in the recovery of a modified AK-47 rifle.

Muhammad reportedly confessed to being part of a notorious kidnapping ring that had been evading authorities since other gang members were apprehended in August 2024.

The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to ensuring public safety during the ongoing Christmas and New Year celebrations.
