Fire ravages FIIRO office in Lagos, millions lost in property damage

A fire broke out at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO) in Lagos during the early hours of Thursday.

The blaze, which reportedly began around midnight on Christmas Day and persisted into Boxing Day morning, has an undetermined cause.

Personnel from the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service responded promptly to contain the flames, but their efforts were hampered by the intensity of the inferno.

While no lives were lost, the fire caused extensive damage, destroying property valued at millions of naira.

Firefighters continued working to prevent the fire from spreading as of the time this report was compiled.
