2027: APC stakeholders endorse Tinubu for second term, defend Senator Akume

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State have declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid, pledging to ensure his victory in the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was made during a meeting of party elders from all 23 local government areas of the state, led by Second Republic Senator Jacob Tilley Gyado. The group commended President Tinubu for appointing prominent individuals from Benue into his administration, highlighting his commitment to the state’s development.

“President Tinubu has shown great support for Benue State, and we will repay this by giving him massive votes to secure a second term,” the elders stated.

The stakeholders also raised concerns about alleged attempts to remove Senator George Akume from his position as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). They described Akume as a key figure in Benue and North Central politics, emphasizing his contributions to the region’s development.

“Senator Akume is a round peg in a round hole,” they said. “He remains our leader and a pillar of political leadership in Benue and the North Central region.”

The group condemned any moves to destabilize the party in Benue, affirming their loyalty to Senator Akume and the APC’s state chairman, Comrade Austin Agada. They decried internal divisions within the party, urging members to unite for the APC’s success in future elections.

The elders attributed Akume’s appointment as SGF to his vast experience, political maturity, and dedication to national development. They expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen the party’s influence in Benue and the North Central region.

Reiterating their commitment to President Tinubu’s administration, the stakeholders assured him of overwhelming support in 2027, promising a “100 over 100” result from Benue State.
