Prominent social critic, Aisha Yesufu, has expressed deep frustration over recent tragic incidents across Nigeria, blaming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what she described as the country’s descent into a “massive graveyard.”
Yesufu’s remarks come in the wake of multiple stampedes that have claimed lives and left many injured as citizens scrambled for palliatives and food.
In Okija, Anambra State, a stampede during the distribution of palliatives tragically resulted in at least 20 deaths. On the same day, another incident occurred at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Abuja, where vulnerable individuals seeking food items were caught in a chaotic rush, leading to an undisclosed number of fatalities.
Similarly, a carnival in Ibadan, Oyo State, ended in disaster when a stampede caused the deaths of over 35 people, most of whom were children, as they struggled to access food items.
Reacting to the heartbreaking developments, Yesufu took to her X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, criticizing the Tinubu administration.
She wrote, “Godswill Akpabio will dare come and tell us that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transformed Abuja and other Nigerian cities into London. Tinubu has turned the whole of Nigeria into a massive grave.”
