Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja following his pilgrimage to the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia, where he participated in the lesser hajj (Umrah).
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications for the Vice President’s office, confirmed the news in a statement issued in Abuja.
During his time at the sacred site, Shettima prayed for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and effective leadership across all levels of government.
“Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony,” the vice president was quoted as saying.
Prior to embarking on the pilgrimage, Shettima represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility, developed by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL), in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
