NNPC refutes shutdown claims, confirms Port Harcourt Refinery fully operational

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has dismissed recent media reports alleging that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery, which resumed operations two months ago, has been shut down.

According to the company, the refinery remains fully operational, as confirmed during a recent inspection by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC.

In a statement issued by Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., the company described the reports as “totally false” and attributed them to individuals attempting to create artificial scarcity and exploit Nigerians.

“Preparation for the day’s loading operation is currently ongoing,” Soneye reassured, urging the public to disregard the misinformation.

NNPC Ltd. emphasized its commitment to ensuring steady refinery operations and maintaining fuel supply across the nation.
