2025 budget: N9.36bn reserves for Tinubu, Shettima travels, refreshments

Nigeria’s proposed 2025 budget reveals that President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will allocate a combined N9.36 billion for local and international trips, as well as refreshments.

The N4.97 trillion budget was presented by President Tinubu to the National Assembly on Wednesday and has already passed its second reading.

According to the budget breakdown, N7.44 billion is set aside for the president’s travel and refreshments, while the vice president’s expenses in the same category amount to N1.9 billion.

Further analysis shows that Tinubu’s international travels will cost N6.14 billion, with an additional N873.9 million for domestic trips.

The budget also allocates N431.6 million for his meals, refreshments, and catering supplies.

For Vice President Shettima, N1.31 billion is earmarked for international trips and N417.5 million for local travel.

Meanwhile, refreshments and meals for his office will cost N186.02 million.
