President Bola Tinubu has been dedicated to reducing crime and enhancing governance since taking office, according to Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication.
In a statement released on December 18, Bwala highlighted the administration’s introduction of the Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey (CESPS) through the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), describing it as a significant effort in addressing crime and improving governance.
Bwala emphasized that the initiative marks a shift towards data-driven governance, offering valuable insights into security issues rather than relying on conjecture.
He explained that the CESPS would provide a detailed breakdown of crime experiences across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, allowing for a more accurate understanding of the nation’s security challenges.
He also pointed to other security achievements under the administration, including a decline in school attacks in Northern Nigeria, as evidence of progress in the fight against crime.
Bwala further noted that these efforts, alongside various economic policies, are part of Tinubu’s broader plan to reshape Nigeria’s governance architecture and create a more robust, thriving economy that will benefit all citizens.
