Agidigbo FM owner hospitalized after witnessing tragic stampede at children’s party

The CEO of Agidigbo FM, a well-known private radio station, Oriyomi Hamzat, is currently receiving medical care, sources within the station revealed on Thursday.

According to insiders at Agidigbo FM, Hamzat was left deeply shaken after witnessing the deaths of several children during a disastrous festive event held at the Islamic High School in Bashorun, Ibadan.

He was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention following the harrowing incident.

AFRIPOST had reported that the tragedy, which involved a stampede at a children’s Christmas celebration claimed the lives of over 20 children.

The event had been organized with significant input from Queen Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, and actively promoted by Agidigbo FM in the days leading up to the calamity.

Authorities confirmed the death toll had reached 35, with six other children critically injured.

The police, through a statement by SP Osifeso Adewale, also announced the arrest of Prophetess Naomi Silekunola and seven other individuals connected to the ill-fated event.

Sources disclosed that Hamzat has struggled to recover emotionally from the traumatic scene since the incident.

“He was present at the event and became overwhelmed when the stampede began, and children started collapsing. He couldn’t handle the distressing sight and eventually fell ill.

He’s currently undergoing treatment at the hospital,” a source close to the situation explained.
