Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has urged Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to remain steadfast in the face of mounting political opposition.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Bori Town Internal Roads project in Khana Local Government Area, Secondus lauded Fubara’s leadership, describing him as a man of humility, integrity, and dedication to service.
He commended the governor’s Urban Renewal Policy, which has brought significant development to Bori Town and other key cities in the state.
“For the people of this area, this road is more than just infrastructure; it is a blessing that we must cherish and maintain. It reflects leadership rooted in humility and respect for elders,” Secondus stated.
He further praised Fubara’s calm and determined approach to governance, emphasizing that it demonstrates his resilience under pressure.
“Be strong and courageous,” Secondus encouraged. “You will overcome your adversaries. Power is ordained by God, and He has entrusted you with this mandate. Your humility and love for the people will always testify in your favor.”
In his response, Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Rivers South-East Senatorial District. He highlighted the successful completion of 14 kilometers of roads covering 23 streets in Bori Town as the first phase of a broader urban transformation initiative.
“This project is not about who started it; it’s about the people of Khana and the future of this Senatorial District. We are building a foundation for sustainable growth, and I assure you that the second phase is already in the pipeline,” Fubara said.
The governor also stressed the importance of unity and collective efforts in achieving lasting progress, urging the people to foster inclusivity and collaboration.
“Development flourishes when communities come together. Let us embrace unity and openness to ensure the continued growth of our state,” he added.
