President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of eight new permanent secretaries in the federal civil service to address existing and impending vacancies across various states and geopolitical zones.
This was disclosed on Monday in a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the appointments followed a thorough selection process conducted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries include Onwusoro Maduka Ihemelandu from Abia State, Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip from Bayelsa State, Anuma Ogbonnaya Nlia from Ebonyi State, Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam from Enugu State, Kalba Danjuma Usman from Gombe State, Usman Salihu Aminu from Kebbi State, Oyekunle Patience Nwakuso from Rivers State, and Nadungu Gagare from Kaduna State.
This marks the second set of permanent secretaries appointed by President Tinubu, following a similar exercise in June 2023, which covered appointments from Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Jigawa, Ondo, Zamfara, and the South-East and South-South regions.
The President urged the new appointees to demonstrate greater commitment, diligence, and innovation in their service to the nation.
