Rufai while speaking further, maintained that the purpose of the visitation to the village is to resolve all issues related to the sale of landed property in the village.

“I attended a crucial meeting with the descendants of my family today Saturday at Okugbaja village in Akanran, Ona Ara local government area.

“The objectives of the meeting are visitation of the village after coronation, resolve and resolution of land matters between Omotara Okugbaja and some other families and introduction of Mogaji to all tenants and stakeholders on Omotara Okugbaja land.

“We had a well reconciliation between Olubode and Okugbaja families, we have formed a formidable ally especially on our land matters. At the meeting, we did introduction to inform that the Mogaji has come to meet them. We discussed on how to stop some people who are selling landed property indiscriminately, those who are selling landed property without family approval.

“We told them that anyone who wishes to sell any landed property must get an approval from the family head. We are not saying that people should not sell landed property, but they must get an approval so as so ensure that the person selling the land is the rightful owner.

“We don’t want a situation where people will sell landed property that does not belong to them. We want to ensure that anyone who want to sell landed property is the rightful owner to sell it.

“Then, I want to appeal to my people and other indigenes of Ibadanland to always seek approval from the family head before a landed property is sold, this will help to address the indiscriminate sale of landed property in Ibadanland”.
