The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), applauding his loyalty, leadership, and consistent contributions to the party.
Speaking during a book launch in Wike’s honor, PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, described him as one of the party’s most dedicated and respected leaders.
“Our mentor and principal, who has never left the PDP for a single day, is one of the most committed and loyal party leaders we have ever had. He has done well, is doing well, and we wish him continued success in his future endeavors,” Arapaja said.
Highlighting Wike’s advocacy for equity, justice, and fairness, Arapaja commended his role in the G5 group and his unwavering support for party members. He contrasted Wike’s actions with those of some leaders who only engage with the party when seeking favors.
“We know you, and we deeply love and appreciate you. While some leaders operate with an entitlement mentality, we will always stand by you because you are a man of integrity, honor, and performance,” he added.
Arapaja also expressed disappointment with recent remarks made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who had criticized the PDP despite his political roots in the party.
“The foundation of all political parties is the PDP. It is surprising when someone who rose to prominence as a product of the PDP speaks negatively about it. Nobody can deny that the current Senate President performed during his time as governor, and it was under the PDP,” Arapaja noted.
The PDP reiterated its commitment to standing by loyal leaders like Wike, emphasizing their importance in advancing the party’s values and vision for Nigeria.
