Controversial artiste, Speed Darlington also known as Akpi is currently facing defamation charges from a Federal High Court in Abuja.
AFRIPOST reported that Deji Adeyanju had criticized the police for not charging the singer and for denying him bail.
In a recent update, lawyer Stanlie Eke revealed that Darlington is in court for allegedly defaming Burna Boy.
Eke emphasized that slander is a criminal offense in Nigeria, and law enforcement has no grounds to get involved in this matter.
In his post, the legal expert mentioned that Darlington, who previously mocked Burna Boy’s mother, was not taken to court because the judges attended a conference.
He added that the court will shut down for the year by next week.
While fans wondered if Darlington would remain in jail until next year, Martins Vincent Otse, known as Verydarkman, responded to the rumors.
He said the singer could be lucky to get bail this week if the judges are available.
However, the activist pointed out that a judge had passed away, but not at the Federal High Court. The activist encouraged fans to stay hopeful.
Netizens in their reactions however blamed people who refused to called Darlington to order while he was “slandering” Burna.
One social media user @perrysignature2 wrote “Leave him there he is not complaining.”
