Olubadan confers honorary chieftaincy titles on two indigenes

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin has conferred honorary chieftaincy titles on some indigenes of the ancient city.

The ceremony took place at the Olubadan palace located at Oke Aremo in Ibadan at the weekend.

Those who were bestowed with the honorary chieftaincy titles are Barrister Sulaiman Ajewole and his wife who were honoured with the titles of Aare and Yeye Atunluse of Ibadanland while Dr. Abisoye Ayoyimika Fagade and his wife, Mrs.Olusola Mobolaji Fagade were conferred with Aare and Yeye Asojuoba of Ibadanland respectively.

The monarch while speaking, disclosed that the honorary title holders had in no measure made their contributions to the unity, progress and development of Ibadanland.

Oba Olakulehin who spoke through the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, said that the recipients of the honorary chieftaincy titles have the interest of Ibadanland at heart.

He added that the Olubadan and Olubadan advisory council considered it necessary to recognize them and appreciate them accordingly.

“The conferment of Honorary Chieftaincy Titles on you is in recognition of your assistance to the progress of Ibadanland which I believe will spur you to do more.

“Use your present position as traditional title holders to foster unity, peace and progress in Ibadanland as the accredited representatives of Olubadan of Ibadanland”.

 

The event was attended by Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Eddy Oyewole- Foko, the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olubunmi Isioye-Dada, the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola Daisi, the Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Muritala Adebayo Akande, the Ekarun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Hannatu Musawa, the Minster of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Arts.
