Gov Zulum praises Nigerian Army’s efforts against terrorism, pledges continued support

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has lauded the Nigerian Army for its unwavering dedication to combating terrorism and insurgency in the North East, particularly in Borno State.

Governor Zulum gave the commendation on Thursday, December 5, 2024, during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, and a delegation of senior military officers to the State Government House in Maiduguri.

Acknowledging the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army in restoring peace and stability, the governor expressed his steadfast support for ongoing military efforts.

He urged the Army to intensify its operations to expedite the safe return of displaced persons to their ancestral homes.

In his remarks, Lt. Gen. Oluyede appreciated Governor Zulum for his consistent support of the Nigerian Army’s counter-terrorism operations.

He emphasized the need for sustained collaboration between the state government and the military to effectively address the lingering security challenges in the region.
